Screening Range Of Motion Sebagai Langkah Peningkatan Mobilitas pada Anak Disabilitas di SLB Negeri 1 Makassar

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SLB Negeri 1 Makassar dengan tujuan untuk melakukan skrining keterbatasan Range of Motion (ROM) pada anak-anak dengan disabilitas khususnya tunadaksa. Kegiatan ini melibatkan observasi dan pemeriksaan fisik untuk mengidentifikasi gangguan lingkup gerak, khususnya pada sendi ekstremitas bawah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan prevalensi yang cukup tinggi terhadap keterbatasan ROM pada kelompok ini. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa faktor-faktor seperti spastisitas, kelemahan otot, dan imobilitas merupakan penyebab utama penurunan mobilitas dan keterbatasan gerak sendi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, telah dilakukan program latihan yang dapat dilakukan secara mandiri di rumah (home program) kepada anak disabilitas tersebut. Selanjutnya, direkomendasikan pada kegiatan pengabdian berikutnya dilakukan intervensi berupa latihan penguatan otot. Intervensi ini diharapkan dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan fungsional dan kualitas hidup anak-anak penyandang disabilitas tunadaksa.
