Abstrak

Tibia-fibula fractures are among the most common lower extremity injuries resulting from high-energy trauma, particularly traffic accidents, and often require definitive management through Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF). The choice of anesthetic technique plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and procedural success. This case report describes a 47-year-old male patient with a left tibia-fibula fracture who underwent ORIF surgery under regional anesthesia using the Subarachnoid Block (SAB) technique. During the procedure, the patient developed hypotension and shivering as anesthetic-related complications; however, these conditions were successfully managed with intravenous fluids, vasopressors, and supportive therapy, leading to the stabilization of vital signs. Postoperative monitoring revealed good consciousness, adequate pain control, and gradual recovery of physiological functions. This case highlights the importance of comprehensive preoperative assessment, proper application of spinal anesthesia, and vigilance in managing intraoperative complications to ensure patient safety and support optimal postoperative prognosis.
