Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that can cause serious complications such as stroke and heart failure, especially in older adults. According to the Indonesian Health Survey, the prevalence of hypertension is quite high throughout Indonesia, including in the Sukoharjo area. Non-pharmacological management, such as Tai-Chi is quite effective because it is light aerobic and can reduce stress and improve cardiovascular function. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Tai-Chi on blood pressure of elderly people with hypertension in Posyandu Nusa Indah 7. The research methodology used a pre-experimental design with a one group pre-test and post-test design. A total of 31 elderly respondents were selected using total sampling. Three times a week. Data analysis was performed using the paired t-test statistical test. The findings showed that there was a significant decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure after Tai-Chi intervention (p < 0.05). This indicates that Tai-Chi is effective in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive elderly. This study highlights the importance of using non-pharmacological interventions, such as Tai-Chi, in elderly health programs, both as a treatment for hypertension and as a preventive measure.
Wildan Muttaqin Nur FahleviFahleviFakhrudin Nasrul SaniTotok Wahyudi

Pain is a common side effect experienced by patients after undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, primarily caused by trauma to the vascular tissue at the catheter insertion site. To address this issue, a non-pharmacological intervention that is easy to apply, safe, and effective is the use of cold pack therapy, which works by inducing vasoconstriction and inhibiting the transmission of pain impulses through nerve fibers, thereby reducing pain perception. This study aimed to determine the effect of cold pack application on pain intensity in post-cardiac catheterization patients at Dr. Moewardi General Hospital, Surakarta. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group approach, involving 46 respondents selected using accidental sampling technique. The respondents were evenly divided into two groups of 23: the intervention group received cold pack therapy, while the control group received standard care. The measurement instruments used were the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant change in pain intensity in the intervention group before and after the application of cold pack (p = 0.000). In addition, the Mann-Whitney test showed a significant posttest difference between the intervention and control groups (p = 0.000). The results indicate that cold pack therapy is proven effective in reducing pain in post-cardiac catheterization patients and can be implemented as part of non-pharmacological nursing interventions in the management of pain after invasive procedures.
Riska Dhivenka Perwita PutriAdy Irawan AMIkrima Rahmasari

Typhoid is an acute infection caused by Salmonella typhi and remains a significant health issue in children. One of the clinical impacts that often arises is a decrease in appetite due to nausea, vomiting, and gastrointestinal tract disorders. This condition risks degrading nutritional status and slowing down the recovery process, so the implementation of appropriate and comprehensive nursing care is needed to address this problem. This literature review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing observation, education, therapeutic actions, and collaboration in increasing the appetite of children with typhoid fever. The literature search was conducted using Google Scholar, with a publication range of 2020-2025. Six articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. The results showed that three articles (50%) reported that child nutrition problems were only partially resolved when nursing implementation was carried out comprehensively. In contrast, the other 50% (n = 3) of the articles reported an increase in appetite and improvement in clinical conditions when all four components of the implementation were fully implemented. Observation of nutritional status, education directed at families, therapeutic actions such as providing a high-calorie and protein-rich diet, and oral hygiene, as well as collaboration with medical teams, have been proven to have an effect on increasing children's food intake. Therefore, the application of comprehensive and consistent nursing care has been proven effective in supporting and overcoming the increased appetite of children with typhoid fever.
Thea Gracia TaihituNadia Aurelia GirothPermaida PermaidaStepanus Maman Hermawan

Encephalitis is an inflammatory condition of the brain parenchyma that often causes serious neurological disorders, as well as muscle weakness, motor dysfunction, impaired coordination, and decreased independence in children's daily activities. The broad clinical impact of encephalitis makes it not only an acute infection but also a condition with long-term implications for children's motor development and quality of life. Therefore, nursing interventions should focus on two main aspects: medical stabilization during the acute phase and structured rehabilitation during the recovery phase. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in improving muscle strength in children with encephalitis by reviewing the latest literature. This research employed a literature review approach, searching publications from 2020 to 2025 and identifying six articles that met the inclusion criteria. The analysis shows that 83.3% (n=5) of the articles focused on rehabilitative interventions such as muscle strengthening exercises, gait correction, balance exercises, range of motion (ROM), and functional activities, which have been shown to improve motor function and accelerate neurological adaptation. Meanwhile, 16.6% (n=1) of the articles emphasized the importance of close monitoring during the acute phase, focusing on neurological observation, complication prevention, maintaining respiratory stability, and monitoring the risk of increased intracranial pressure. These findings confirm that nursing interventions, which include comprehensive observation, family education, structured therapeutic measures, and multidisciplinary collaboration, significantly optimize neuroplasticity, improve postural control, and maximize muscle strength recovery. Overall, these evidence-based nursing interventions are crucial elements in enhancing the quality of life and independence of children with encephalitis.
Frischa Ananda PutriMonica Dwi CahyaPermaida PermaidaRudy Ciulianto

The number of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing hemodialysis continues to increase. Fatigue is one of the complaints that often arise in patients undergoing hemodialysis (60-97%). This has a serious impact on the quality of life and daily activities. This study aims to provide an overview of the level of fatigue in CKD patients undergoing regular hemodialysis at Tabanan Hospital. This study used a quantitative descriptive design, involving 151 respondents through purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used was the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue (FACIT-F) questionnaire, with data analysis using descriptive and univariate statistics. The results of the study from a total of 151 respondents were obtained with moderate fatigue levels of 78 respondents (51.6%), severe fatigue as many as 41 (27.2%), and mild fatigue as many as 32 (21.2%). Moderate levels of fatigue are thought to be related to biological factors, especially anemia, where low hemoglobin levels lead to reduced oxygen supply to tissues and cause sustained fatigue. In addition, the patient's psychological adaptation to chronic diseases and hemodialysis routines undergone for a long period of time can form a coping mechanism so that the level of fatigue tends to be in the moderate category. Thus, moderate fatigue is a dominant problem in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis and requires special attention in nursing care
Andika PrajaditaNi Luh Putu Thrisna DewiTheresia Anita Pramesti

Fulfilling spiritual needs, including prayer, is an essential part of holistic care for hospitalized pediatric patients, but its implementation often faces challenges. This study aims to determine the practice of prayer among pediatric patients hospitalized at PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital. The method used was a qualitative research approach with a single case study approach, with a 5-year-old child and her mother as participants. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews using open-ended questions based on Gordon's theory. The results indicate that religion plays a significant role as a source of peace and guidance for patients and their families. Prayer practice during hospitalization tends to decline, influenced by the patient's health condition, lack of habituation, and inadequate family support in assisting children with worship. On the other hand, illness is interpreted as a means of reflection to draw closer to God and cultivate patience. The results of this study conclude that the implementation of religious activities among hospitalized pediatric patients is still suboptimal, necessitating the active involvement of nurses and families in providing support and facilitating the fulfillment of patients' spiritual needs during the treatment process.
Vinna WidiasariFalasifah Yuniarti

Hemodialysis is a complex and long-term renal replacement therapy that requires strict adherence to multiple medical recommendations, including fluid restriction, medication adherence, dietary regulation, and scheduled therapy sessions. Non-adherence to the hemodialysis regimen can worsen clinical conditions and increase the risk of complications, morbidity, and mortality. Therefore, effective and sustainable intervention strategies are needed to improve adherence among hemodialysis patients. This narrative review aims to integrate recent findings from studies that examine various adherence-enhancing interventions, including interactive education, psychosocial support, behavioral interventions, and physiological monitoring. A narrative synthesis was conducted through a literature review of ten recent studies evaluating the effectiveness of different approaches, such as teach-back methods, nurse-led follow-up calls, behavioral self-regulation strategies, psychosocial support, and physiological monitoring, in improving adherence to fluid restriction and therapeutic regimens. The findings indicate that interactive educational interventions, particularly teach-back techniques and nurse follow-up calls, significantly improve patient understanding and adherence to treatment protocols. Behavioral interventions, including self-regulation and positive coping skills training, support patients’ psychological adaptation to long-term therapy. In addition, psychosocial support from family and healthcare professionals enhances motivation and promotes sustained adherence. Routine physiological monitoring, such as assessment of interdialytic weight gain, further supports adherence to prescribed regimens.
Stroke is a leading cause of mortality worldwide, particularly among patients requiring intensive care. Identifying factors associated with mortality in the intensive care unit (ICU) is essential to improve clinical management. This study examined factors associated with mortality among stroke patients admitted to the ICU. A retrospective analytic study was conducted using secondary medical record data of stroke patients admitted to the ICU of TK. II R.W. Mongisidi Hospital, Manado, Indonesia, between December 2025 and January 2026. A total of 55 patients were included. Mortality during ICU stay was the primary outcome. Sociodemographic variables, clinical factors, and length of stay were analyzed using Chi-square and Fisher’s exact tests in SPSS version 26, with significance set at p < 0.05. The mortality rate was 41.8%. Most patients had a history of hypertension (78.2%) and uncontrolled blood pressure (87.3%). Age, gender, education, employment status, marital status, genetic factors, medication adherence, history of hypertension, and blood pressure status were not significantly associated with mortality (p > 0.05). Length of ICU stay was significantly associated with mortality (p < 0.001), with deaths occurring more frequently among patients with shorter stays. Length of ICU stay was the only factor significantly associated with mortality among ICU-admitted stroke patients
AndrianiYuni AsriAnanda Sagita Maharani

Kidney transplantation is the treatment of choice for patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease. The success of this procedure is highly influenced by appropriate perioperative fluid management. Fluid imbalance can lead to serious complications, including delayed graft function, impaired renal perfusion, and increased postoperative morbidity and mortality. This review aims to evaluate the current evidence on perioperative fluid therapy strategies in kidney transplantation, focusing on fluid type selection, monitoring methods, and clinical implications. A narrative review was conducted by synthesizing recent studies on fluid management in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing kidney transplantation. The findings show that balanced crystalloids are preferred over 0.9% sodium chloride because they improve acid–base balance and renal perfusion. In addition, goal-directed fluid therapy guided by dynamic hemodynamic parameters helps maintain intraoperative hemodynamic stability. The combination of these approaches is associated with reduced postoperative complications and improved graft function. In conclusion, optimal perioperative fluid management plays a crucial role in improving kidney transplant outcomes. An individualized approach based on patient hemodynamic status, surgical phase, and graft characteristics should be applied to achieve better, safer clinical outcomes consistent with current evidence-based practice. The clinical implications highlight the need for standardized perioperative fluid management protocols across transplant centers to improve patient safety, reduce clinical practice variability, and support the consistent implementation of evidence-based guidelines in modern healthcare. This approach is also expected to enhance long-term patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency in referral hospitals through improved coordination of an integrated multidisciplinary clinical team.
Made SuandikaFilia Nadira InayaSidqi Rassis Ramadhan

Patient handover is an important process in ensuring the continuity of nursing care and patient safety. This study aims to analyze the implementation of nurse handover in the Al-Ikhlas Ward of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Bantul and identify the influencing factors using the fishbone diagram method. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews and observations of nurses involved in the handover process. The results of the study show that the implementation of handover in general has gone well and uses the SBAR communication method which is carried out in a structured, concise, and clear manner. However, there are still several obstacles that affect the effectiveness of handovers, including interruptions due to doctor visits, a less conducive environment, delegation of duties from other professions, delays of nurses during shift changes, and limited facilities and infrastructure such as interference in computer systems. These factors have the potential to cause suboptimal communication and increase the risk of miscommunication. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of handover is quite good but not optimal because it is still influenced by human factors, methods, time, and facilities. Therefore, improvement efforts are needed through improving time discipline, strengthening structured communication, workload management, and providing adequate supporting facilities so that the handover process can run more effectively, safely, and support the improvement of the quality of nursing services
Nafi Salsabila PutriNovita Kurnia SariIndra PrasetyantoroAnna Miftahul Rohmah

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major global health burden characterized by progressive loss of renal function and impaired acid–base regulation resulting from reduced hydrogen ion excretion and limited bicarbonate regeneration. These abnormalities frequently lead to chronic metabolic acidosis, contributing to disease progression and increasing perioperative risk in surgical patients. This narrative review evaluates the impact of intravenous fluid choice, specifically 0.9% saline versus balanced crystalloids, on acid–base homeostasis in CKD patients undergoing surgery. A critical analysis was performed using ten peer reviewed articles from reputable journals, focusing on the pathophysiology of acid–base disturbances in CKD, biochemical effects of perioperative fluids, and clinical outcomes related to fluid selection. The findings indicate that 0.9% saline, due to its high chloride concentration, is associated with hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis and may worsen renal function.Conversely, balanced crystalloids contain metabolizable buffers such as lactate or acetate, preserve a more physiological strong ion difference, enhance acid–base stability, and are linked to a lower risk of acute kidney injury. In conclusion, balanced crystalloids are preferable to saline for perioperative fluid management in CKD patients, as they support better acid–base balance and may reduce postoperative complications. Individual patient factors and electrolyte status should guide perioperative therapy decisions.
Made SuandikaDiandra Aurellia Septia PramadaniPutri Liyan WulandariFadiyah Naylatus Syarofah

Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative disorder of the musculoskeletal system commonly experienced by the elderly, characterized by pain, joint stiffness, and reduced mobility, which can affect the patient’s quality of life. One of the recommended non-pharmacological therapies to help alleviate symptoms and improve physical function is knee exercise. This case report aims to describe the implementation of knee exercise as a form of nursing care for older adults with knee osteoarthritis. The method used was a case report on an elderly male patient, aged 64, presenting with knee pain due to osteoarthritis. A knee exercise program was administered for seven consecutive days, once daily, with each session lasting approximately 15–20 minutes. Evaluation was performed using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) to assess pain intensity and the Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT) to assess the patient’s functional mobility. The results showed improvements in several clinical parameters following the intervention. Pain intensity decreased from an NRS of 5 to an NRS of 4, while functional mobility improved, as indicated by a reduction in TUGT time from 17 seconds to 16 seconds. In addition, the patient appeared more stable when performing the sit-to-stand movement. The conclusion indicates that the implementation of knee exercises can lead to initial improvements in physical mobility among older adults with knee osteoarthritis. One important factor influencing the quality of life of older adults, especially those living in social care institutions, is spiritual well-being, which includes the relationship with God and a sense of meaning in life. This study aimed to examine the relationship between spiritual well-being and the quality of life of older adults at Tresna Werdha Social Care (TWSC) Kasih Sayang Ibu Batusangkar and TWSC Sabai Nan Aluih Sicincin. This study employed a quantitative correlational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all older adults residing in the two TWSCs, totaling 180 individuals, using a total sampling technique. The instruments used were the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS) and the Indonesian version of WHOQOL-BREF. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods, with the Chi-square test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that most older adults had a high level of spiritual well-being (67.2%) and a good quality of life (63.3%). Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between spiritual well-being and quality of life among older adults (p = 0.000; OR = 3.4; 95% CI = 2.1–5.7). Older adults with high spiritual well-being were 3.4 times more likely to have a good quality of life compared to those with low spiritual well-being. Spiritual well-being plays an important role in improving the quality of life of older adults in social care institutions. The spiritual dimension helps older adults achieve inner peace, find meaning in life, and strengthen social relationships. Therefore, the implementation of spirituality-based nursing interventions and the strengthening of routine religious activities in social care institutions are necessary to enhance the holistic well-being of older adults
Setiadi SyarliTomi JepisaRifahatul Mahmudah Ririn RirinHusni Husni

Cesarean section is a surgical procedure that often causes acute pain in the postoperative period. Uncontrolled pain can interfere with mobilization, rest, and the patient’s recovery process. Therefore, non-pharmacological interventions are needed as a complement to pharmacological therapy, including the autogenic relaxation technique. This study aimed to identify changes in pain level in post–cesarean section patients after the implementation of the autogenic relaxation technique. The intervention consisted of structured autogenic relaxation, including breathing regulation and relaxation suggestions, which were administered according to the patient’s condition. The results showed changes in pain level after the autogenic relaxation technique was applied. Patients experienced increased relaxation and comfort and demonstrated better control of their responses to pain. Improvements in comfort and quality of rest were also reported. Autogenic relaxation can be used as an effective non-pharmacological nursing intervention to help control pain in post–cesarean section patients and to support the postoperative recovery process.
Siti Nur RahmadaniJoanggi Wiriatarina Pipit FerianiTri Wahyuni

Bangun-bangun leaves (Coleus amboinicus) and katuk leaves (Sauropus androgynus) are known to contain compounds that enhance breast milk production. Bangun-bangun leaves contain lactagogue, polyphenols, and flavonoids, while katuk leaves also contain lactagogue, saponins, and steroids. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of bangun-bangun leaf decoction and katuk leaf decoction in increasing breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers in Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a two-group pre-post test design. The sample consisted of 20 breastfeeding mothers divided into two groups: the first group received bangun-bangun leaf decoction, and the second group received katuk leaf decoction. Data were collected by measuring breast milk production before and after the intervention. Data analysis was conducted using bivariate and multivariate statistical tests. The study findings indicate that both bangun-bangun and katuk leaf decoctions positively impact breast milk production. However, when comparing the magnitude of the effect, katuk leaves had a greater influence (coefficient 0.035) compared to bangun-bangun leaves (coefficient 0.015). Additionally, the significance value of katuk leaves (0.001 < 0.042) demonstrated a higher level of confidence in their effectiveness. Among the two types of leaves, katuk leaves showed a more significant and stronger effect in increasing breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers in Sampali Village. To analyze the association of age, workload, and nurses’ attitudes with nurses’ compliance with fall-risk prevention in Nilam Wards 1 2 at Dr. H. Moch. Ansari Saleh General Hospital, Banjarmasin. A quantitative analytic cross-sectional study involving 41 nurses (total sampling) conducted on 13–16 January 2026. Data were collected using a biodata sheet and modified questionnaires on compliance (Putrina, 2019), workload (Subagya, 2016), and attitude (Fajrin, 2024) with validity reliability testing. Univariate (frequency percentage) and bivariate (Spearman) analyses were performed. Most respondents were adults (82.9%), reported light workload (92.7%), had positive attitudes (90.2%), and were compliant with the fall-prevention SOP (87.8%). Spearman test showed no significant association between age and compliance (p=0.291; r=0.169), while workload was significantly associated with compliance but with a weak correlation (p=0.040; r=0.317), and attitude was significantly associated with compliance but with a weak correlation (p=0.027; r=0.225). Nurses’ compliance is associated with work conditions (workload) and individual factors (attitude); thus, sustaining compliance should focus on proactive SOP integration into daily workflow, audit–feedback, and strengthening a patient-safety culture not only after fall incidents.
Yunita SariHerman AriadiSukarlan SukarlanNoor Amaliah

Low Birth Weight (LBW) infants, defined as infants born weighing less than 2,500 grams, are at higher risk of physiological instability and growth problems. One non-pharmacological nursing intervention applied in the care of LBW infants is Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC). This study aimed to describe the implementation of KMC and its association with changes in body weight and physiological responses in LBW infants within the nursing care process. This study employed a descriptive case study design using a nursing care approach conducted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The subject of the study was one clinically stable LBW infant. Data collection was carried out through nursing assessment, observation, physical examination, and medical record review. Observed parameters included body weight, body temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate, and oxygen saturation before and after the implementation of KMC. The results showed an increase in body weight from 1,945 grams to 2,118 grams following the application of Kangaroo Mother Care. The infant’s physiological responses remained within normal ranges, as indicated by stable body temperature, regular respiratory rate, stable heart rate, and adequate oxygen saturation. The application of Kangaroo Mother Care in nursing care may support physiological stability and weight gain in low birth weight infants. This intervention can be considered a supportive nursing approach that emphasizes family involvement in the care of LBW infants.
Shanti HartatiRegina Natalia

Spirituality is a fundamental human need that is inseparable from holistic healthcare. Illness and hospitalization affect not only the physical aspect but also the spiritual dimension, including the patient's ability to perform religious worship. This study aims to provide an in-depth description of prayer (sholat) spirituality practice among a pediatric patient during inpatient care at PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul Hospital. A qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design was employed. The research subject was a single female pediatric patient, identified as "Y", aged 17 years, Muslim, hospitalized due to febris. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document review in September 2025. Data analysis followed Braun and Clarke's (2022) thematic analysis framework, with trustworthiness ensured through source triangulation and member checking. Analysis yielded four main themes: (1) early internalization of religious values shaped by family and Islamic boarding school environments; (2) prayer as a source of psychological calm and strength during illness; (3) barriers to worship practice, including physical weakness, pain, and difficulties in ritual purification (thaharah); and (4) positive spiritual meaning-making of illness, perceived as a divine trial, a means of sin remission, and a catalyst for spiritual closeness to God. The findings indicate that despite physical limitations, the patient maintained strong spiritual motivation by positively reframing her illness experience. Nurses are encouraged to actively assess and facilitate spiritual needs, including informing patients about religious dispensations (rukhsah), as an integral component of holistic nursing care for Muslim pediatric patients
Ryian AryianiFalasifah Ani Yuniarti

In pneumonia, alveoli may fill with fluid and secretions that hinder oxygen diffusion, causing dyspnea. Persistent respiratory compromise can disrupt vital organ function; therefore, comprehensive nursing care is required alongside pharmacological therapy. One non-pharmacological option is Local hyperthermia (controlled heat applied to the anterior chest), which may promote chest-wall relaxation and improve pulmonary perfusion, thereby supporting respiratory indicators. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Local hyperthermia on respiratory rate (RR) and oxygen saturation (SpO?) in a pneumonia patient in the ICU. The method was a case study using a nursing care approach in the ICU of RSUD Inche Abdoel Moeis Samarinda. The intervention used a hot-water bag (±50°C) wrapped in a towel and placed on the anterior chest for 23 minutes, twice daily (12-hour interval) for four consecutive days. RR and SpO? were measured immediately before and after each session through routine clinical assessment and bedside monitoring. Results showed a mean RR reduction of 5 breaths/minute and a mean SpO? increase of 1 point.
Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are commonly experienced by patients undergoing spinal anesthesia. This condition occurs due to the activation of the vomiting center situated in the medulla oblongata, activated by inputs from the gastrointestinal tract, vestibular apparatus, and the pharmacological effects of anesthetic agents and opioids. This process involves multiple receptor pathways, including dopamine (D2), serotonin (5-HT3), muscarinic (M1), histamine (H1), neurokinin-1 (NK1), and opioid (?) receptors, which collectively regulate emetic reflexes via the Chemoreceptor Trigger Zone (CTZ). Ginger aromatherapy exerts antiemetic effects by suppressing serotonin (5-HT3) receptor activity, thereby diminishing stimulation of the vomiting center. Meanwhile, P6 acupressure influences the autonomic nervous system and promotes beta-endorphin secretion, contributing to the inhibition of nausea and vomiting reflexes. This research sought to evaluate the effectiveness of combining ginger aromatherapy with P6 acupressure in alleviating PONV. This research utilised a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group format and included 22 respondents chosen purposively. The assessment of symptoms was carried out using “the Rhodes Index of Nausea, Vomiting, and Retching (RINVR)”. Paired t-test analysis in the intervention group revealed a score reduction from 14.18 to 6.45 (p = 0.000), whereas the control group showed a change from 13.55 to 11.00 (p = 0.001). Independent t-test results on posttest scores confirmed a significant difference between groups (p = 0.000). These findings indicate that the combined intervention is effective in reducing PONV among spinal anesthesia patients
Alvin VermansyahDwi NovitasariFeti Kumala Dewi

https://jurnal.pustakagalerimandiri.co.id/index.php/pustakakeperawatan/article/view/1856

Maintaining preventive health behaviors among adolescents remains a significant challenge in building a resilient society. Compliance driven solely by external regulations is often temporary and fragile. To achieve sustainable behavioral transformation, a deep understanding of how policy frameworks interact with adolescent internal motivation is required. This study aims to analyze the relationship between policy support and adolescent motivation in internalizing long-term preventive behaviors. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted on 427 adolescents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson correlation and linear regression tests to measure the strength of the relationship between variables. The analysis revealed a mean policy score of 17.90 and an adolescent motivation score of 39.50. A significant positive correlation was found between policy and adolescent motivation (p=0.001; r=0.431). These results indicate that inclusive and effective policies act as catalysts, enhancing adolescents' internal drive to independently comply with health standards. Public policy should no longer be viewed as an instrument of coercion, but rather as a supportive ecosystem that fosters internal motivation. Sustainable transformation of preventive behavior requires policy approaches that empower adolescents, rather than merely restricting them. Future health strategies must focus on integrating participatory policies with the strengthening of adolescent health autonomy, ensuring that preventive behavior becomes an ingrained aspect of their daily lives.
Nurma ZelaIsna Aglusi BadriYulia Devi PutriTrisya Yona Febrina

The intervention was carried out on two post caesarean section patients by giving 3 drops of lavender essential oil on cotton ball that placed ± 10 cm from the nose for 30 minutes after 2 hours and 12 hours after caesarean section. The assessment was carried out using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) instrument to assess pain level and the State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) to score anxiety. After being given lavender aromatherapy twice in 2 hours and 12 hours after caesarean section, there was a decrease in pain level and anxiety in post caesarean section patients. Hopefully lavender aromatherapy can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy that can be carried out independently to reduce the level of pain and anxiety in post caesarean section patients
Eny Dewi PamungkasZafira Virgine Tavipiana

The kidneys are a pair of vital organs roughly the size of a fist and account for 1% of the total human body weight. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a medical condition in which kidney function progressively declines, resulting in the body’s inability to perform metabolism efficiently. One of the treatments for chronic kidney disease is hemodialysis, which aims to address the temporary or permanent loss of kidney function. The process requires vascular access to circulate blood, typically through the insertion of a needle into an arteriovenous fistula. This procedure causes a pain response that can lead to anxiety and fear during hemodialysis. This study discusses a case analysis regarding the management of CKD patients using acupressure at the LI-4 point to reduce pain intensity during the AV fistula cannulation process in the Hemodialysis Unit at Parikesit Tenggarong Regional General Hospital. The innovative intervention involved applying acupressure at the LI-4 point to alleviate pain for 2–3 minutes prior to and immediately before the AV fistula puncture. The study results showed a significant difference in patients’ pain scores after the acupressure intervention was applied. On the first day, the pain score decreased from 5 to 2; on the second day, from 4 to 2; and on the third day, from 4 to 1.
Pulmonary tuberculosis is a chronic, recurrent infectious disease that usually affects the lungs, and can even affect all organs. Pulmonary TB is spread through the air from person to person. When a person with pulmonary TB coughs, sneezes, or spits, TB germs are released into the air, which can be inhaled by others, potentially infecting them. Psychological distress in families with members with pulmonary TB can also occur due to fear of contracting TB, worry about the lengthy treatment process, and even concern about the social environment where negative stigma toward pulmonary TB persists. This literature review was conducted by searching the Google Scholar database and selecting articles based on inclusion criteria, resulting in the selection of 10 primary articles for analysis. Family anxiety in caring for a family member with pulmonary TB is a manifestation of multiple psychological burdens. The majority of families indicated that despite having the resilience to care, they remain emotionally distressed. Family anxiety in caring for a patient with pulmonary TB is a complex phenomenon triggered by a combination of a lack of accurate medical information, economic pressures, gender, age, and minimal social support in the surrounding environment. Education should not only focus on patient medication schedules but also address family anxiety management. Furthermore, it's crucial for healthcare facilities to initiate support groups for patient families to share emotional burdens and prevent caregivers from feeling socially isolated. Keywords: abstract keywords
Irene Febriany Mamo KituVeronika ToruVerawati Rade Taka
